Meet our PK Teacher Aide – Mrs. Galeener

How long have you been a teacher at Grace?

This is my first year teaching at Grace, but I have several years of experience working in early childhood.

What do you love the most about teaching at Grace?

It’s my first year teaching at Grace, but I love the pure joy and magic of working with preschoolers. Everything is new and exciting.

What is the best word to describe Grace?

Family.

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

I love crafts, and I’m excited to create with the kids this year.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?

I love attending my kids sporting events both at Grace (Go Vikings!) and at the ice skating rink or baseball field. I also enjoy reading and gardening.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.”

I love this verse because there is joy and sadness in each season of life, but God is right by our side for all of it.

What is the best advice you’ve ever heard?

Always eat dessert.

What is something that recently made you smile?

Taking my boys to their first Major League Baseball game, and watching them with their mitts trying to catch foul balls.

What is a weird or fun fact that you know?

The worlds largest bottle of ketchup is in Collinsville, Illinois (but it’s not actually a bottle. It’s a water tower, don’t worry I was disappointed too).
