Meet our 4th Grade Teacher – Mrs. Brucato

How long have you been a teacher at Grace?

This is my 6th year teaching.

What do you love the most about teaching at Grace?

I love the Grace students!! They are the ones who make me smile every day! I am full of gratitude to God for allowing me to work here and be apart of the students’ lives.

What is the best word to describe Grace?

Beautiful. It’s a beautiful building with beautiful trees alongside it (I enjoy their beauty daily from my classroom). Inside the beautiful building are beautiful people who come together every day to encourage each other to be seekers of beauty. As teachers, we seek to teach students more about our world, and we aim to see and bring out the beauty in each of our individual students. Our students teach us how to be more curious and live in awe and wonder of the beauty of God’s creation. God is doing a beautiful work in the lives of everyone who is involved at Grace and for that I am so grateful!

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

I have lived in 4 countries and traveled a lot, and I have a huge curiosity and appreciation for other cultures. I love to listen to my students and learn from their life experiences.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?

I love traveling, going on adventures and being outside… hiking, biking, swimming, playing sports, exploring, anything outside! I also love cooking… and of course eating!

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

Psalm 34 has been the Psalm I have held onto tightly during rough times.

What is the best advice you’ve ever heard?

Just focus on doing the next right thing.

What is something that recently made you smile?

Just yesterday I played soccer with my kids at a beautiful park that was full of fall colors, then we went to eat at a delicious Ethiopian restaurant called Tesfa, and I couldn’t stop smiling from all the joy and gratitude I felt.

What is a weird or fun fact that you know?

Scotland’s national animal is .. the unicorn!
