Boys Varsity Volleyball Season

Grace had 7 athletes on the Varsity boys volleyball team this year. They were coached by a student from Dominican University, Jarod Hesse. The boys played hard this season and have much to be proud of. The boys fought hard each game, and played amazing. Here is what Coach Hesse had to say about their season:

“Grace Boys Varsity went to state and finished 5th place overall. Day one was filled with 2 heart breaking 3 set thrillers that were decided by less than 3 points each. After a hard-fought day one, the boys went on to win their last two games of the tournament to take 5th in the state. As a team we were honored to receive the sportsmanship award. One of our 8th graders, Lucas, received all tournament team honors.”

The Sportsmanship Award is voted on by the tournament directors and given to one boys team and one girls team each year. We are very proud of our players on a great season of volleyball and representing themselves is such a fine way!

The boys faced our girls varsity team at the post-season party and won. It was an entertaining game for sure! Three of our athletes are graduating after this school year. They will be missed, but we look forward to a new and amazing season next fall!
