Meet our School Social Worker
Arteria Puckett is the newest member of the Grace family. She brings so much experience to the position and Grace is thrilled to have her. We encourage you to take the time to get to know her a bit through the bio she has provided. If you see her in the school halls, make sure to say “hello”!
I attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Family Community Services. I worked in homeless shelters and emergency services at Catholic charities in Lombard and Villa Park, Illinois. I obtained my master’s degree in social work in 2008. I worked at a Catholic charities domestic violence shelter in Jackson, Mississippi before returning to the Chicagoland area in 2017. Upon my return to Chicago with my son Andrew, I worked at the Salvation Army until 2020. I went back to school to obtain my PEL certification in the 2020-2021 school year. I completed my internship at UIC College Prep in Chicago, Illinois.
This is my first year working at Grace Lutheran. I feel grateful to be able to work with the staff and students.
In my free time, I love to travel, listening to gospel music (the likes of Shirley Caesar), and spend time with my son and family.
