Christmas time at Grace

It’s that time of year again! If you walk through the halls of Grace you will hear echoes of students’ voices singing or humming the Christmas songs they are practicing for our upcoming Christmas Eve service. It is such a sweet sound to hear the kindergarten class break out in song together as they put their things away. We are all looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Christmas has been the talk for a few weeks now, with classrooms discussing holiday traditions from different cultures and celebrating them. Kindergarten is observing Advent with special readings and prayers on a daily basis. Handbells and choirs are coming together to practice their amazing Christmas Eve performance which continues to be a beloved tradition at Grace Lutheran Church and School.

Our youngest students have already performed several times this week. They kicked off with songs and a nativity scene reenactment for the Cornerstones group at Grace. They also had a chance to perform for the rest of the school, and of course, their families.

Our comic club created their first winter theme comic strips which we are proudly displaying in our winter edition of the School Scoop newsletter. Make sure to check your student’s Tuesday folder to see what an amazing job they did!

Students of all grade levels are revving up for Christmas class parties which often involve treats and a secret Santa gift exchange. Around the building we’ve had our Christmas photo op for students, and of course our huge Christmas tree displayed in Memorial Garden which can be seen through the atrium windows.

We hope that all of our Grace families have a holiday season full of laughter and peace. As we remember the birth of our Savior, we are so grateful in our hearts for what God has done here and for each and every student that is placed in our care. Thank you all for your trust and support.
