Grace Family Spotlight – The Miller Family

The Millers have been at Grace for 4 years now. They have one son who graduated from Grace in 2022 and another who is currently in 7th grade. Greg is a principal, and a Chicago office director at Cerami & Associates, an acoustics and technology design company. Kara is a manager of marketing and communications at Shriners Children’s Chicago, a pediatric subspecialty hospital. We invited them to share what brought them to Grace, and why they have continued to enroll their students ever since.

Why did you choose Grace Lutheran School for your students?

During the pandemic we needed an in-person option for our children. Grace had the safety protocols, small size, and flexibility to offer in person schooling effectively. We had several friends from church whose children already attended. They mentioned the academic rigor.

What did you love the most about this school year?

School sports and the time connecting with other parents and families through the sports. Also, Harry is enjoying the handbell strike team.

What would you tell another parent who may be considering enrolling their child at Grace?

We thought this was just a pandemic school choice for us as we’ve always felt called to be involved in public schools. But our kids loved the small class size and the no-cut sports. Our children were thriving, so we stayed.
