Marianne Richmond’s Author Visit to Grace Lutheran School
On Monday, September 23, we had the incredible honor of welcoming celebrated children’s author and illustrator Marianne Richmond for a special visit with our Pre-K through 3rd grade students. Marianne shared her inspiring journey as an author and introduced our students to her latest book, The World Is Awaiting You.

About the Book: The World Is Awaiting You
During her visit, Marianne introduced our students to The World Is Awaiting You, a beautifully illustrated picture book that encourages young readers to explore the unique gifts they bring to the world. Each page reflects on a different part of “you”—whether it’s your mind to think, your hands to help, your feet to explore, or your heart to love. Marianne’s message to our students was clear: no matter who you are or where you go, you have the power to make a difference.
Why This Visit Matters
At Grace, we believe author visits like these provide more than just an opportunity to meet a favorite writer—they create moments of inspiration and connection. Marianne’s visit reminded our students that their voices, ideas, and dreams matter. It’s our hope that this experience will spark a lasting love for reading and creativity in our students, and encourage them to explore the many ways they can use their gifts to make an impact on the world.
A special thank you to everyone who is helping make this event a success by purchasing a copy of The World Is Awaiting You through the school. Your support not only makes these visits possible but also enriches our students’ lives through the magic of books and storytelling.
