Service Through Chapel Offering
At Grace Lutheran School, we recognize the importance of service to others especially as it relates to our faith. One of the ways we actively engage in service is through our chapel offering. This offering, which students can give each week during chapel, are a tangible way for us to reach out and help others. We believe that service goes hand in hand with faith, and giving to the chapel offering provides an opportunity to live out that belief in a meaningful way.
Each year, we carefully choose where our chapel offering will go. This year, we’re excited to announce that our offering will be dedicated to the Lutheran Academy in Martin, Slovakia, part of the Center for Christian Education (CCE). The relationship between Grace Lutheran Church and the CCE has been strong for years, and now we’re extending that partnership by supporting the educational efforts of the academy.
Last Friday, we were pleased to welcome Natalia, the chaplain of the Lutheran Academy, and Mishka, a middle school English teacher from the school. They spoke to our students about their work in Slovakia, giving our community a first-hand perspective on the impact of our offering. We believe that when students hear directly from those involved, it helps them connect more deeply with the mission. They’ll see how their contributions are helping to provide education rooted in faith for students halfway around the world.
At Grace, we emphasize our students’ growth in faith, knowledge, and character. By giving to causes like the Lutheran Academy, we help shape their understanding of what it means to serve others and live out our faith in a global context. We look forward to continuing our commitment to serving others and hearing from Natalia and Mishka again.
