Curious Vikings

At Grace Lutheran School, our “Curious Vikings” enrichment programs inspire curiosity and hands-on learning for students beyond the classroom. Tailored to foster growth and new skills, our offerings include engaging, interactive classes that build knowledge and creativity.

Students interested in Spanish can dive into language learning with classes provided by The Gartner Spanish School, available right after dismissal on Wednesdays. This program opens the door to bilingual communication, helping students gain cultural understanding and language skills that will benefit them for life.

For those who enjoy strategy, our chess program, offered in collaboration with the Chicago Chess Foundation on Thursdays, helps develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This after-school activity is an ideal way for students to challenge themselves and engage in friendly competition.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to introduce an Amateur Radio program in early 2025. This new addition will allow students to explore the fundamentals of radio communication, science, and technology in a fun, interactive way.

These programs wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated parent volunteers. Their support allows us to offer these unique opportunities, enriching our students’ educational journeys. We are truly grateful for our parent community, whose involvement helps make “Curious Vikings” a thriving part of Grace Lutheran School. A special shout out to Kristen Hines who is spearheading our Curious Vikings program!
