Chapel Buddy Lunch

Chapel Buddy Lunch was a fantastic success! Held in the Fellowship Hall, the event brought together all of our students for a time of community, laughter, and delicious food. Whether enjoying a hot dog lunch or bringing their own meal, students and their Chapel Buddies bonded over shared conversation and plenty of smiles.

This event is part of our cherished Chapel Buddy program, which pairs older students with younger students for the school year. The program fosters a sense of community while giving our older students opportunities to practice leadership and serve as role models. Throughout the year, Chapel Buddies connect in various ways—visiting classrooms to read together, working on fun projects like gingerbread houses, or simply sharing a greeting in the hallways. Students love these relationships, and the joy of seeing their buddy at school (or even around the neighborhood!) is priceless.

Today’s lunch also had a meaningful purpose: raising funds for our 5th and 6th graders’ Night Ministry Stocking Project. Proceeds from the lunch will go toward purchasing essential items for the stockings, supporting the Night Ministry’s mission to care for unhoused individuals and those experiencing poverty in Chicago.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and a special thanks to those who contributed by ordering lunch, donating stocking items, or helping serve lunch. Your generosity continues to make a difference!
