Discover the Grace Viking Experience
A Day in the Life of a Future Viking
At Grace Lutheran School, we understand that choosing the right school is a big decision for families. That’s why we offer the Grace Viking Experience, a unique opportunity for prospective students to immerse themselves in our school community and see firsthand what it’s like to be a Viking.
From February through April, families who have applied to Grace Lutheran School and completed their admissions checklist are invited to schedule a Grace Viking Experience day for their child. This visit is a full day of learning, connecting, and experiencing life as a Viking!
What to Expect
1. Parent-Teacher Connection
The day begins with a 15-20-minute meeting between parents and a teacher. This time allows us to learn more about your child and answer any questions you may have, ensuring a personalized experience.
2. Classroom Shadowing
Your child will then join their prospective class, spending the morning fully engaged in lessons, activities, and socializing with future classmates. This hands-on experience helps students feel comfortable and gives them a sense of what a typical school day at Grace is like.
3. Academic Assessment
After shadowing, students may complete an academic assessment to help us understand their current strengths and areas for growth. If current MAP Reading and Math scores are available, we’ll review them and have your student meet with a teacher or student support staff member for a tailored assessment. If not, your child will complete a brief MAP screener.

What Happens Next?
After the visit, the admissions team reviews feedback from teachers and assessment results. Families will then meet with the principal to discuss their child’s experience and address any final questions. If all goes well, we’ll share the exciting news of your child’s acceptance and guide you through the enrollment process.
