Lutheran Schools Week Begins: A Special Visit from Matt Wilhelm
On Monday, March 10, we kicked off Lutheran Schools Week at Grace Lutheran School, and the excitement is in the air! This week is a special time for our school community to celebrate our faith, our learning, and the joy of being together. A huge thank you goes to Mrs. Underhill, who has put so much effort into organizing this incredible week. We also want to extend our gratitude to all the faculty and staff who have worked behind the scenes to make this week a success. We are looking forward to each day and the special activities planned!
Our opening day was extra special because we had the privilege of welcoming an amazing guest to our school assembly – Matt Wilhelm. Matt is a Guinness World Record holder, a three-time X Games medalist, a world championship silver and bronze medalist, and a semi-finalist on “America’s Got Talent.” He wowed our students with his incredible bike tricks right in our gymnasium, leaving everyone amazed and inspired.
One of the most thrilling moments of the assembly was when Matt jumped over two of our brave teachers on his bike! It was definitely a moment to remember!
Beyond the jaw-dropping stunts, Matt shared a powerful message with our students about perseverance and the value of hard work. Through personal stories of failure and resilience, he emphasized that success doesn’t come easy—it takes dedication and practice. His journey reminded us that setbacks are a part of life, but with determination and persistence, we can achieve our goals.
These lessons align perfectly with the values we strive to instill in our students at Grace Lutheran School. We are incredibly grateful to Matt Wilhelm for not only entertaining us but also for sharing such an important message that our students will carry with them.
As Lutheran Schools Week continues, we can’t wait to experience more fun activities, meaningful lessons, and opportunities to grow together. Thank you again to everyone who has helped make this week possible—we are so blessed to be part of this wonderful community!
