Reflections on Grace Lutheran’s Robotics Season

Grace Lutheran Robotics Team Wraps Up an Exciting Second Season – by Jeff Blackman

Grace Lutheran’s robotics program just completed its second season—and what a year it was! Four of our student-led teams competed against other local middle schools in one of the most challenging VEX Robotics competitions to date: High Stakes. In this fast-paced challenge, students were tasked with designing and programming robots to place donut-shaped rings onto stakes scattered across the field, all while strategizing for maximum points.

Each team created a unique robot to meet the complex demands of the game. Two of our teams successfully scored points—an impressive feat in a season where not all teams in the league managed to do so. Even more exciting, one of our teams was selected to compete in the elite “Battle of the Bots” finals, an honor reserved for top performers in the league.

We’re incredibly proud of our students’ creativity, teamwork, and perseverance. With such a strong showing this year, we’re already looking forward to an even bigger and better season next year!
