Meet Our First Grade Teacher!
A Passion for Literacy and Faith-Based Learning
We are excited to introduce our wonderful first-grade teacher as she enters her fourth year of teaching first-grade and first year at Grace Lutheran School! With a heart for young learners and a passion for literacy, she brings both experience and joy to our school community.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Winona State University and a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Western Governors University. Her academic background has equipped her to serve students from a variety of learning backgrounds, especially in the foundational area of reading.
One of her greatest joys in teaching is helping students learn to read—and it shows. She continually researches and applies best practices in reading instruction to help her students build strong, lifelong literacy skills. Her classroom is a place where confidence and curiosity grow alongside phonics and fluency.
She shares, “I feel incredibly fortunate to teach in a setting that values both academic growth and faith development.” Inspired by the many educators who have made a difference in her life, she hopes to be that same kind of positive influence for her students.
When she’s not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Tommie. You might also find her cheering on a basketball game or fitting in a workout during her free time.
We’re so thankful to have her as part of our Grace Lutheran family. Here’s to another great year of learning, growing, and reading in first grade!
