Meet our Pre-K Teacher!

We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Alissa Nowinski to Grace Lutheran School as our Pre-K Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year!

Mrs. Nowinski is a dedicated local educator with a strong background in early childhood and Kindergarten education. A graduate of DePaul University with a degree in Elementary Education, she brings with her a passion for nurturing young learners and a belief in educating the “whole student.” Most recently, she served as a Kindergarten teacher in Oak Park’s District 97, where she was known for creating engaging, supportive, and developmentally rich classroom environments.

Mrs. Nowinski has spent the majority of her teaching career working in early childhood education—a field she is truly passionate about. She believes that the early years are foundational in helping children develop not only strong academic skills, but also a love for learning, confidence, and character.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Nowinski and her husband, Tom, have raised their two teenage daughters in Oak Park, where they’ve enjoyed being part of a close-knit and active community. When she’s not teaching, she loves cheering on her daughters at softball games and dance performances. She also enjoys staying active—she’s even a certified personal trainer! Traveling and spending time with friends and family are a few of her favorite ways to recharge.

Mrs. Nowinski shared,

“I am so excited to be joining the Grace Lutheran School community this year! I’m truly looking forward to becoming a part of the Grace Lutheran family and getting to know all of you throughout the school year.”

Please join us in giving a warm Grace Lutheran welcome to Mrs. Nowinski. We’re excited to have her share her gifts and passion with our students and families!
