Current Programs
Spanish
Spanish: we partner with The Gartner Spanish School to provide an engaging and dynamic learning environment. Our K-2nd session kicked off this fall.
We can expand across more grades should we meet the minimum of nine (9) students per grade group and (1) parent volunteer per class.

We are always looking for new opportunities to enrich curious minds. Please contact Kristen Hines (hines.kristenm@gmail.com) to share your interests or recommend new vendors or partners.
Chess
Chess: we are excited to introduce our new partner, the Chicago Chess Foundation (CCF). This non-profit organization gives all children – with a focus on low-income communities –the opportunity to learn, play, and compete in chess. Inspired by their mission, we are piloting a new partnership where the GLS community will provide a donation to CCF to help further their mission, while also bringing an exciting chess experience to our students.
In our first year, we are piloting a program for 2nd – 5th grade. We can expand across more grades should we meet the minimum of nine (9) students per grade group and (1) parent volunteer per class.

Future Program - Amateur Radio
Amateur Radio: Amateur radio is a great way to gain knowledge and skill with electronics technology and for hands-on experimentation and application of technology. We launch a new Amateur Radio program in early 2025, piloted for our 3rd – 5th grade students.
