Private School Tuition and Financial Aid
Affordable Options for an Exceptional Christian School
As you research schools, you probably have several questions racing through your mind:
How will private school tuition fit into our budget?
Is there a Christian school near me that’s a worthy investment?
Do we qualify for financial aid?
At Grace Lutheran School, we offer a faith-based education that’s accessible to all families through our variable tuition model, also known as sliding scale tuition. This model adjusts based on multiple factors affecting a family’s financial circumstances. Over half of our families receive variable tuition, ensuring that each family pays an appropriate tuition level — while still receiving the high-quality, values-driven education we’re known for. This makes our school a valuable choice for those seeking a private school near River Forest, IL.
FACTS Tuition Assistance Application
Frequently asked questions.
What is sliding scale tuition or variable tuition?
Sliding scale tuition or variable tuition is a model that allows families to pay what they can reasonably afford to attend Grace School. With this model, each family pays a rate of tuition that fits their unique financial situation. This is available for students in senior kindergarten through eighth grade, and for the morning program for preschool and junior kindergarten.
How does it work?
Any family may apply for variable tuition. The main factors considered when determining a family’s tuition amount include income and number of dependents; each family is asked to pay what they can reasonably afford. Applications are submitted directly to FACTS Management, a third party that evaluates the applications and makes recommendations to Grace School’s Variable Tuition Committee. From those recommendations, the committee determines the variable tuition amount for each family. Families will be notified of the tuition level they qualify for directly from FACTS.
What families qualify for tuition assistance?
A wide range of families with a variety of circumstances qualify for the program, from those who are able to pay close to the full tuition to those who are able to pay a smaller percentage of the full tuition amount. Many factors are evaluated, including income, expenses, and family size.
Are some families awarded full tuition?
No. Every family is required to make a financial investment in their child’s education. Our commitment to providing variable tuition means we are sharing in that investment with you.
Does tuition assistance factor in multiple students and siblings attending Grace School?
Yes. This is one of the key factors that determines variable tuition. One of the important questions asked on our confidential application asks for family size and number of students enrolled at Grace School.
What is Grace School’s full tuition amount?
For 2022-23, the tuition for a family with one child can vary from $2,925 to $8,775. The minimum amount for families with two children will be $5,265, and for 3 or more children it will be $7,020.
