Scouting at Grace Lutheran Church and School, River Forest
Since 1934, Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest has proudly chartered Troop 4066 with Scouting America, shaping generations of youth into confident, service-minded leaders. Today, boys and girls from Senior Kindergarten and older can join this more than 90-year legacy of Scouting in River Forest!
Scouting is more than an extracurricular activity—it’s a journey of character-building, skill development, and friendship. At its heart is the Scout Oath:
“On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”
This pledge guides Scouts in Pack and Troop 4066 as they serve through clean-ups, conservation efforts, and community projects, fostering a lifelong commitment to service in River Forest and beyond.
Troop 4066 WebsitePack 4066 (Grades SK–5)
Pack 4066 offers fun, discovery, and foundational life skills for grades SK–5. Through family-driven adventures, Cub Scouting builds confidence and cooperation with activities such as:
– Hikes, nature observation, and science experiments
– Crafts, games, and community service
– Earning adventure awards in fitness, safety, the outdoors, citizenship, and more

Troop 4066 (Ages 11–17)
Troop 4066, the first Troop in the area open to girls, empowers Scouts to take ownership of their journey. Through the Scouts BSA program, youth develop leadership and life skills with opportunities to:
– Plan and lead patrol activities
– Earn merit badges in areas such as hiking, camping, first aid, robotics, cooking, and citizenship
– Pursue the prestigious Eagle Scout Award
