TEACHER SPOTLIGHT – Brian Schultz

Brian Schultz has been our dedicated Junior High teacher at Grace for the past 16 years! Mr. Schultz teaches Math, Science, and Technology, bringing passion and expertise to our classrooms. Before becoming a full-time teacher, Mr. Schultz was already part of the Grace family, coaching in 2006 and 2007. One cool fun fact about Mr. Schultz is that he and his wife train for and compete in HYROX! HYROX is an indoor fitness competition that combines 8km of running with eight functional workout stations.

His journey at Grace has been nothing short of eventful. He started as a young, single teacher, and Ms. Wolfanger fondly recalls the time when he was anxiously waiting for his specialty engagement ring to arrive. The ring wasn’t ready on time, but when it finally came in the middle of a school day, Mr. Schultz, excited and nervous, interrupted her class to show it off (he never interrupts class!). It was such a fun and memorable moment!

From his Valparaiso University days, Mr. Schultz was quite the track and field athlete. He ran the fifth fastest 60m hurdles time (8.93) in school history as a freshman, turned in the third fastest 200m indoor hurdles mark all-time in 2003 (27.27), and moved into fifth in school history with a mark of 43’5″ in the indoor triple jump. He was also named to the Mid-Con All-Academic Team.

Our Grace alumni fondly remember Mr. Schultz for his good sense of humor and the many teams he has led to state championships in basketball and track & field. His commitment to our school and community is truly inspiring. We are blessed by his continued service to this school, and we look forward to another great academic year together!

Thank you, Mr. Schultz, for all that you do!
